Peer Counselor

We employ and accept volunteer Bilingual English/Spanish Peer Counselors in part- and full-time positions in our Phoenix Clinic locations. We are currently seeking volunteer Peer Counselors to report pregnancy test results and offer counseling and patient education on pregnancy, abortion, adoption and parenting. The Peer Counselor will also communicate with patients following their visits and set up follow-up appointments. Responsibilities include aiding in all tasks of the clinic including: answering phones, greeting arriving patients, and assuring patient paperwork is complete. Additional back-up support responsibilities may include obtaining proper specimens, running pregnancy tests, scheduling appointments, and entering patient data into the computer.  Peer Counselor also assists the MA’s, RN’s, NP’s and Nurse Manager as needed including chaperoning exams, filing, inventory control, and maintaining tidy and professional looking patient access areas.  We will provide training for this position.

Requirements: Bilingual English/Spanish Peer Counselor is a team players who is positive and outgoing, with a professional manner, honest character and can work at a fast pace while maintaining accuracy. Peer Counselor possesses excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as possessing organizational and standard computer skills.
